Constructed of silvered magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised Heer style German national eagle clutching an Iron Cross, situated above an inscription of CHOLM 1942, unmarked, measuring 39. 62 mm (w) x 65. 29 mm (h), weighing 6. 7 grams, moderate surface oxidation is evident throughout and all three reverse attachment prongs are missing, the latter resulting in the loss of the shields backplate and branch determining wool liner,
