Description
There is a knick in the wood on the upper right corner and wear in that area
which attaches via hooks to the posts on either side of it (and so is easy to remove)
with almost no loss of paint or paper on the frames
And then a complete set of checkers
and also often including a hidden match striker on the flat of the lower section of the lid
Naive Drawing on 1879 Ledger Paper: Two Men with Knives and Guns cowhide There is a knick inI assume this one was done by a boy c. 1900 or so, making use of an old ledger that was laying around. I love how positively gentle this pair look even as they fire their guns and hold their knives at the ready, here seemingly fighting on the same side, their enemy beyond the frame. The drawing of the Native American, looking very much the more poised of the two, I find especially beautiful and really quite powerful. 8 1 8 x 6 15 16 and in very good
