This is an exceptionally serious wine that should age for years yet isn’t overtly hard

2002 was an easy vintage

The nose is savoury and full of complexity

Discreet wood frames the ripe aromas of rosemary oil, white peach and again a whiff of petrol character. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense yet theyre even more powerful while concluding in a wonderfully long and sappy if borderline tannic finale that flirts with rusticity. This wont win any awards for refinement but its really quite good.
