The Outrage  the film was based on the Japanese stories Rashomon and In A Grove by Ryunosuke Akutagawa (made into the film Rashomon by Kurosawa)-- a recounting of the same story by different people

clearly it was painted by an artist who knew what they were doing

I especially love the violets

indicating point values for successfully extracting them should one wish to keep score

I'll never say no a naive bird drawing of this sort no fuss, just good, with a certain elegance and sense of resolve, too. I think this is a Common Grackle based on the combination of blue head, black body and yellow eyes. 11 5 8" x 9 1 8", very good condition, c. 1930s.
