The Schultzes source theirs from Rodnick Farm in the Chalone AVA, a high elevation south facing site planted in 1985 that overlooks the Salinas Valley. Warm days, cool nights, and a coastal pull give the wine a mineral spine that nods toward its Loire homeland while still tasting unmistakably Californian. Native ferment in neutral cooperage keeps everything
